Last Updated: 14.08.25
Welcome to Healthy Hooves Equine (“we,” “our,” or “us”) at Higher Manor Farm. By using our services, website, or facilities, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read carefully.

1. Services Provided
Healthy Hooves Equine provides:
- Livery Services: Full, part, and retirement livery with care tailored to individual horse needs.
- Natural Track System Care: Horses live on purpose-built track systems that encourage movement, socialisation, and mental stimulation.
- Meadow Turnout & Enrichment: Periodic turnout into pasture and use of enrichment tools such as hay stations, scratching posts, mounds, and natural terrain variations.
- Equine-Assisted Therapy Programs: Optional participation for suitable retired horses in programs run by The Ranch to support children’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
- Additional Services: Vet, dentistry, farrier, physiotherapy, and behaviour clinics arranged as needed.
All services prioritise horse welfare, health, and emotional wellbeing.

2. Booking, Fees, and Payment
- All fees must be paid as agreed in the livery contract or service agreement.
- Payments are non-refundable unless explicitly stated.
- Late payments may result in suspension of services, additional fees, or termination of the agreement.
- Owners are responsible for any additional costs incurred for veterinary care, farrier, or specialist services unless included in the agreed package.

3. Horse Health and Owner Responsibilities
- Owners must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding their horse’s health, behaviour, diet, and any special requirements.
- Owners must ensure their horse is vaccinated, wormed, and fit for the services provided.
- Owners are responsible for arranging and covering emergency veterinary costs unless otherwise agreed.
- We reserve the right to refuse services or terminate agreements if a horse’s health or behaviour poses a risk to themselves, other horses, or staff.

4. Participation in Therapy Programs
- Participation in equine-assisted therapy is entirely optional and requires owner consent.
- Only horses assessed as suitable by our team, in consultation with owners, vets, and equine behaviour specialists, may participate.
- Horses will never be forced to participate; their welfare and willingness guide all involvement.
- Therapy sessions are conducted in a controlled environment separate from general livery areas, and horses retain full access to barns and track systems outside these times.
- Owners agree to allow handlers to manage horses safely during therapy sessions, including grooming, walking, or non-ridden activities.

5. Horse Welfare and Enrichment
- Horses live outdoors with access to shelter, deep Aubiose bedding, low-sugar hay served in slow feeders, and other enrichment tools.
- Horses may be rotated through tracks and paddocks based on individual needs and health considerations.
- We aim to provide mental stimulation, gentle exercise, and social interaction to all horses.
- Any specific enrichment or turnout requirements communicated by owners will be incorporated wherever possible, without compromising the welfare of other horses.

6. Liability
- While we take all reasonable precautions for horse and human safety, we cannot accept liability for:
- Injuries, accidents, or illness occurring on-site or during routine care and turnout.
- Loss, theft, or death of a horse under our care beyond instances of negligence.
- Owners are strongly advised to carry insurance covering their horses and any personal liability.
- We are not liable for emotional distress or losses associated with participation in therapy programs or other equine activities.

7. Code of Conduct
- All staff, owners, and visitors must act respectfully toward horses, staff, and property.
- Aggressive, unsafe, or disruptive behaviour is prohibited.
- We reserve the right to remove individuals or terminate services for breaches of conduct.
8. Health and Safety on Site
- Visitors must comply with all safety instructions.
- Appropriate footwear and clothing are required when interacting with horses.
- Children under 16 must be supervised at all times.
- No unauthorised riding, handling, or feeding of horses is permitted.

9. Termination
- Either party may terminate the livery or service agreement with notice as outlined in the contract.
- Immediate termination may occur if horse welfare, staff safety, or property is at risk.
- On termination, all outstanding fees must be paid, and horses must be collected in a timely manner unless otherwise agreed.

10. Changes to Terms
- We may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time.
- Changes will be communicated via email and posted on our website.
- Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

11. Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
